Vision Will Be Driven By These Emotions In Captain America: Civil War

From a psychological perspective, Vision is certainly one of the more fascinating characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Being an android, his thought processes are obviously much different than anyone around him – and while that means he will comprehend certain things much better than his Avengers team-mates, there are other things that he will struggle to work his mind around. This includes things like what it means to be human and now to understand love – both of which the character will grapple with in the upcoming Captain America 

Paul Bettany, who made his début as Vision in Avenger Age of Ultron and is currently promoting his latest directorial effort, Shelter, recently spoke with Colider and revealed the emotional status of Vision in the next Marvel Cinematic Universe film. According to the actor, his character will have some serious issues regarding what will surely be the film’s tagline: “whose side are you on?” Bettany explained, 

I think he’s very interested in what it means to be human and what love is. The only way one can guarantee one’s loyalty is love. Loyalty is beyond logic, really. Logic doesn’t really provide for loyalty. If your logic changes suddenly and things [don’t] make sense, you can alter your allegiance, but love stops you from being able to do that.

At this point, not much is known about Vision role in the overall story of Captain America Civil war - which involves Captain America and Iron Man butting heads over superhero legislation and causing massive in-fighting – but we do know what team he will be playing for initially. It turns out that he will be supporting his semi-father, Tony Stark, in the fight to support new laws regarding superhero activity. His team-mates will include fellow Avengers War Machine, Black Widow, as well as a new hero being introduced to the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Chadwick Boseman’s Black Panther.

Directors Joe and Anthony Russo are helming the film based on a script by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely – the same group behind Captain America Civil war Winter Soilder

- and production wrapped earlier this year. With a major Disney blockbuster on the way in the form of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, there is hope that we will be getting a first trailer for the Marvel movie soon – but as of yet a date has not yet been announced for the debut preview.
