Apparently Tom Holland's Spider-Man Training Involves Electrocution

Tom Holland has been working hard to become the next film Spider-Man. We’ve seen what the guy has been putting himself through, and the athletic feats he’s now capable of. However, it’s beginning to look like the kid is starting to go a little overboard. His most recent training apparently involves giving himself electric shocks.

While you might think that Holland is just getting ready for his first big screen battle with Electro, because that would actually make more sense than this insanity, the actor has revealed that his new gym workout involves doing his exercise route while receiving electricity to his chest via belts that have been strapped to his body
I went to this gym yesterday where they strap electric belts on you and you do exercise whilst being electrocuted. It's a really strange experience. It's like a dull tingling, but I'm definitely feeling it today. I have to do 20 minutes once a week. Marvel are quite against us doing our own stunts [though].

At first glance, it sounds like Tom Holland may have been taken in by one of those late night TV ads for one of those devices that’s supposed to tone your abs while you sit on the couch. We will go ahead and assume that there’s a little more to it than that, since the actor is actually working out while receiving the shocks. Still. it sounds like the electric shocks are something that Marvel is requiring of him. MaybeKevin Feige is the one who watches too much late night television. The fact that Marvel will let their actors shock themselves with electricity, but not do stunts, does seem a little out of balance.

Shock therapy is only one of Holland’s numerous techniques for getting ready to play Spider-Man. He makes a reference to his new AirTrac gymnastics mat further along in his interview (via ComicBookMovie.com), something we’ve already seen him show off, we mean, workout, with.

Tom Holland’s workout regiment hasn’t been a crash course. He’s been showing off his athletic skill since long before he was given the role, and he credits that as what impressed Marvel enough to make him the next Spider-Man. The man is certainly putting in the time to get himself in the proper shape, we’ll give him that much.

Since Spider-Man was conspicuously absent from the first Captain America: Civil War trailer, we have yet to see the results of Holland’s hard work. Although, since Marvel won’t let Holland do his own stunts, we’re not even sure how much we will even see him, since most of the work in a mask in almost certainly a stuntman.
